🗞️ TOP STORY

NIGHT CYCLING IS MAKING A COMEBACK IN BANGKOK’S HISTORIC OLD TOWN. BIKE-SHARING TRIPS JUMPED 60% IN ONE MONTH.

Bangkok’s bike-sharing trips hit 171,492 in October, up 60% from September. City Hall credits “Night Ride,” a social media trend where riders rent shared bikes for 10 to 20 baht through the HelloRide or Anywheel apps and cycle past lit-up landmarks on Rattanakosin Island after dark. The Grand Palace, the Giant Swing, Democracy Monument, Wat Suthat, all glowing against the night sky with cooler temperatures and lighter traffic. The trend has taken off with Gen Z riders and tourists. The most popular pickup spots are Sanam Chai MRT, City Hall near the Giant Swing and Sam Yot MRT.

When the scheme launched in January 2024, it did 1,700 trips a month. Now it is doing 171,000. The BMA is adding another 850 bike racks and targeting one million trips. City Hall has posted safety rules: one person per bike, stay under 100 kilograms, keep the speed moderate and keep quiet when riding past homes late at night. You do not need your own bike. You do not need gear. You download the app, scan the bike and ride through some of the most beautiful streets in Southeast Asia for the price of a bottle of water.

Bottom line: Download the app. Rent a bike for 10-20 baht. Cycle through the old town after dark. This is one of the best things to do in Bangkok right now and it costs less than a coffee.

Most hair thinning products go after symptoms. OneSkin goes after the cause. Their OS-01 Hair Scalp Serum targets the dysfunctional senescent cells behind age-related thinning at the scalp level. It is the only formula that specifically addresses cellular aging in the scalp, and it is clinically validated to improve thickness and density with consistent use. Save 25% on OS-01 Hair Serum.

Target Hair Thinning Where it Begins—at the Cellular Level

There are many products for hair thinning on the market, but they don’t all deliver on their promises. OneSkin’s OS-01 HAIR SCALP SERUM is backed by clinically validated longevity science, and proven to improve thickness and density with consistent use.

Treatments like DHT blockers address pattern thinning, and minoxidil increases blood flow to the scalp. But OS-01 HAIR is the only scalp formula to specifically address the dysfunctional senescent cells behind age-related hair thinning.

Powered by OneSkin’s proprietary OS-01 Peptide™, OS-01 HAIR SCALP SERUM targets the spread of senescent cells at the scalp, creating the optimal conditions for visibly fuller, healthier-looking hair.

Address hair thinning where it begins. Make OneSkin’s OS-01 HAIR part of your longevity stack, and optimize your hair health routine.

THE HEAD OF THAILAND’S BIGGEST CONGLOMERATE JUST LAID OUT FIVE “GROWTH ENGINES” TO REINVENT THE ECONOMY. HERE IS WHAT HE SAID.

THE HEAD OF THAILAND’S BIGGEST CONGLOMERATE JUST LAID OUT FIVE “GROWTH ENGINES” TO REINVENT THE ECONOMY.

Suphachai Chearavanont runs CP Group, the company behind 7-Eleven, Makro and True Corporation. At THE STANDARD Economic Forum this week, he said Thailand has been stuck at 1-2% GDP growth and needs to hit 4-5% to stay competitive. His plan: five growth engines. A New Economy Hub for high-tech and automotive. A Technology Hub with more R&D spending. A Human Capital Hub to build AI skills and bring in global talent. A Food and Healthcare Hub that plays to Thailand’s existing strengths. And a Trade and Logistics Hub that uses the country’s location to connect China, ASEAN and the Indian Ocean.

This is not a politician talking. Suphachai is describing the pressure his own businesses face. He said Thailand’s foreign investment is falling behind Vietnam, and he named three things the country needs before any of the five engines work: geopolitical neutrality, political stability and good governance. AI ties all five together as the technology that makes them possible. For expats working in tech, finance, food or healthcare here, this is the clearest signal yet for where the opportunities are heading.

Bottom line: The man behind 7-Eleven, Makro and True says Thailand needs to double its growth rate. The path runs through AI, better investment conditions and a serious talent strategy. If you are building something in Thailand, these five categories are where the money is going.

If your CRM feels like it was built for a different era, it probably was. Attio is the fastest-growing CRM on Brex and Ramp, built for ambitious teams running multiple revenue motions across different lifecycles. Companies like Granola, turbopuffer and Modal are already building on it. If you are in GTM and tired of fighting your tools instead of using them, this is worth a look.

⚡ QUICK HITS

Thailand is considering national food reserves as the NSC prepares for a prolonged Middle East conflict. The government has moved past “don’t panic” and into actual strategic planning. Food reserves would be precautionary, not a response to a real shortage. But the fact that this conversation is happening at all tells you how seriously Bangkok is taking the risk of supply chain disruption.

Thailand is pushing ahead with US trade talks despite the midterm shift. Deputy PM Suphajee said Bangkok will not wait for Washington to sort out its new Congressional dynamics before moving on trade. For businesses that operate between the two countries, the signal is clear: talks stay active no matter who controls Congress.

“Thailand must move from being liked to being trusted,” says the Foreign Minister’s adviser. One line that captures a real tension in Thai foreign policy. The country is seen as friendly and welcoming but not always taken seriously as a strategic partner. Whether the government can close that gap will shape trade deals, defense ties and how much weight Thailand carries in the region.

The five-day storm alert continues through Sunday. Bangkok has 70% thundershower coverage today. The South gets heavy to very heavy rain from Saturday through Monday. If your weekend plans depend on dry weather, have a backup.🎶 SPOT OF THE DAY

APT 101 is designed to feel like a 1970s New York penthouse and it pulls it off. Multiple rooms, mid-century furniture, vintage vinyl, warm lighting and one of the best sound systems in Bangkok. The music rotates between house, disco, nu-disco, afro house and RnB depending on the night. Cocktails run about ฿350. Beer starts at ฿200. Entry is ฿300-500. The crowd is expats, creative types and locals who want an intimate room over a mega-club.

The 4.7-star rating across 1,015 Google reviews is one of the highest for any nightclub in the city. “Super nice place with very good quality sound and music selection,” one reviewer wrote. Another called the lighting, sound and overall vibe “amazing.” This is not the club for everyone. It is the club for people who want the music right, the drinks strong and the room to feel like a private party.

Insider tip: Thursday and Friday nights tend to have the strongest DJ lineups. Arrive by 10PM for easier entry. Reserve through SevenRooms if you want a table. The vinyl lounge with the pool table in the back is the best spot for conversation before the main room fills up.
